Which Game Is for You?

Side by side

The high hand always uses standard poker hand rankings. Split games award the other half differently: Big O and Omaha Hi-Lo give it to the best eight-or-better low, and High Low Chicago to the lowest spade in the hole.

Questions, Answered

What's the easiest poker game to learn?
Texas Hold 'Em or Five Card Draw. Hold 'Em is the game you'll find running every day at High Mountain.
What is a mixed game?
A game that rotates between poker variants, such as Hold 'Em, Omaha and Stud, usually every orbit or every set number of hands.
Do all games use the same hand rankings?
For the high hand, yes: every game we spread uses standard poker hand rankings, from high card up to a royal flush, and the Texas Hold 'Em guide lists them all. Split games award the other half differently: Big O and Omaha Hi-Lo give it to the best eight-or-better low, and High Low Chicago to the lowest spade in the hole.
