House Rules
The basics
♠
Code of Conduct
Management works to keep the room pleasant for every player and staff member, but isn't responsible for the conduct of any player. We have a code of conduct, and we may deny use of the card room to anyone who breaks it. The following are not permitted:
- Collusion, soft play, angle shooting or any other form of cheating
- Verbally or physically threatening any patron or staff member
- Excessive profanity or obscene language
- Creating a disturbance by arguing, shouting or making excessive noise
- Throwing, tearing, bending or crumpling cards or chips
- Destroying or defacing property
- Using an illegal substance or drinking outside alcohol on the premises
- Carrying a weapon
- Inflammatory religious or political discussions
Table Etiquette
Act in turn, keep your chips visible and don't splash the pot. English only at the tables while hands are in play. The following actions are improper and are grounds for a warning, suspension or ban:
- Speaking a language other than English at the table
- Deliberately acting out of turn
- Deliberately splashing chips into the pot
- Agreeing to check a hand down when a third player is all-in
- Reading a hand for another player at showdown before it has been placed face up on the table
- Telling anyone to turn a hand face up at showdown
- Revealing the contents of a hand in a multi-way pot before betting is complete, including information about a folded hand
- Needlessly stalling the game
- Deliberately discarding cards away from the muck. Release cards low and at a moderate speed.
- Stacking chips in a way that interferes with dealing or viewing cards
- Saying or doing anything that could unfairly influence the course of play, whether or not you're in the pot
- Using a phone, tablet or other device with a live hand in a tournament. In cash games, devices are fine as long as you don't stall the game. Take phone calls away from the table, including speakerphone calls.
Seating Policy
Seating is first come, first served. You must be present to keep your place on the waiting list.
Phones & Devices
- Take all calls away from the table. If you're on speakerphone, take the call outside.
- Headphones can't cover both ears.
- If your phone stalls the game or the action, you'll be dealt out until it's put away.
- If you're spoken to more than once about stalling the game, you'll be cashed out for the day without further warning.
